this is an art trade i did with another artist. i'll post the pic that she did for me once she gets done with it. its been awhile since i've colored so im a bit rusty but thats gonna change...look forward to a few color practice pics in the near future. i asked a few artist if i could use their B&W line art for practice my coloring and i was given the green light to do so...much respect to them and their art cause a few of the ppl that i asked are those who inspire me to get better..

THE ART SLUMP IS OVER WITH...I CAN FEEL IT!!!...
some times these down times are good for me..it helps to give my head a rest from the constant
thinking of what to draw next and how to design it...now concerning this time, i was able to focus my energy on learning graphic design and cranking out a few flyers. also...in the mist of all that i gotta design a web site template which should be fun.

I didn't plan on posting a pic like this but a few artist over on DA got together and planed on doing a gi joe/cobra collab since the gi joe movie is around the corner. the topic was cobra characters so i picked zarana. nothing real complicated or uber detailed...i might do another version if i have the time. stay tuned for the finished product that includes all the artist who submitted art and what they drew...i had fun with this collab so look forward to more cobra pics in the future...maybe baronness, cobra comander, and storm shadow...we'll see.

this post came a little later than i planed.....my excuse is ummm....to much gears of war 2. that games addictive and tons of fun to play live with a few friends. but enuff of that...

this post is a pic of light yagami (aka kira) from the manga/anime Death note. For those who don't know about death note yet just google it and if you get the chance watch the anime. it's #2 of my all time favorite anime series second to ghost in the shell. I will say that the manga is better in terms of story but the anime has a better ending imo.

there's been a ton of speculation on the internet regarding his life span and the life span of various characters in the story. a mathmatical formula was found ( im not sure if it's ligit) but its sopposed to be able to fight out the life span of a character based on the numbers seen over their head. Light's life span is rumored to be 71.....more death note pics to come folks...expect misa, L, and maybe mello....

WHATS UP!!!
been a tad bit busy the last few weeks but i managed to make time to finish this pic awhile ago.
i drew this up back when The Dark Knight had came out in theaters and i had every intention to finish it but they way i wanted it to look with colors added didn't seem right to me. i have the tendency of letting line art sit for a while till i can envision the finished product. most of the time i got the whole concept from start to finish already planned out but every so often i'll settle for just waiting and brainstorming an idea rather than doing something that i know isn't what i want....

JUST A LITTLE SOMETHING I DID UP A FEW YEARS AGO.

To make a long story short, i grew up drawing alot with my bros and a few of us kept with it but others stopped. i kept on for a while but then i put it on the back burner to take care of other stuff that i had an interest in. I began seeing my younger bro cranking out sweet art and got a tad bit jealous cause i knew i had the talent to do the same so i bought some pencils and some printer paper decided to get back into it.

i did the usual sketching and doodling to get my groove back and i found out that it's kinda like riding a bike...you never forget. So one day i was like, enough fooling around and playing paddy cake im gonna start cranking out sweet art like him. so i sat down and said to my self im gonna draw a angel....no comic character or cartoon characters cause i wanted to do something original for a change......about 1 hour later this pic was created. it was just a pencil sketch for about 5 years till i decided to color it a week ago..

OK, enuff reminissing...this is one of three angels im gonna post so stay tuned folks...

....just got a new computer. my old one seemed like it was about to die and was acting all funny and stuff...this new one is pretty fast and has a huge hard drive for tons of image files.
it took me awhile to transfer all my data from the old one to the new one but im finally done...

Rurouni Kenshin the legendary manslayer and the famous reverse blade sword...

this has got to be one of my top ten fav anime. #1 being ghost in the shell than full metal alchemist at second then comes kenshin. the balance between story/dialogue and action is almost perfect imo which is why i like it...although this pic is 90% done i decided to post it anyways...
i planned on just adding a few minor details to it like moon lighting but decided not to at this moment...i got a lot of other pics to post so i decided to slap this one up and move along...

on a different note....more 07 art is on the way and then i'll start posting 08 art.
only 5 more pics of males to go to finish off this series. i think 3 pics are 07 art and 2 are 08...stay tuned....

***on a side note...i must say that inspiration for art is everywhere...you just got to look for it....
one day i was taking the trash and it was a fairly nice day. the sun was out and at the moment i was brainstorming ideas for my male series of drawings. for some reason it seemed like every tree was filled with birds chirping... it was a quiet afternoon so i could hear it clear as day....hence the idea of sasukes jutsu chidori..... more to come...

ONE MONTH AND NO POSTS!!!!!! either i must be slacking off or just to busy...

actually its the latter....been so busy lately with everything else in life i haven't had the chance
to post. worked through a few slumps, took some time off to rethink my artistic goals and where i want to be headed. got lots of pics drawn just need to color them. doing a few side projects for a few ppl....but anyways...thats my excuse ^_^

With hearts filled with sadness, thousands...no... millions of artist mourn the passing of a great artist. Sunday august 12 Mike Wieringo died of a heart attack at his home in North Carolina.
Like a virus, the news has spread all over the Internet and has reached many in a matter of days.
although i never met him or spoke to him i admired his art and looked up to him as an inspiration to achieve greatness. So, along with the many artist around the globe i to lament at his death.
To the left are two drawings that he created. one is a self portrait of him self and the other is one that i like.
He died at the age of 44...... rest in peace...

i think alot of ppl slept on dark horse comics back in the day. thinking it was mediocre in it's art and overall appearance. ultimately scumming to the blinding light of Image and it's horde of talented artist....i always thought that ghost was an interesting character but never got a chance to read on of their books....showing dark horse comics alittle love this time....stay tuned for more

...at the time i was sketching up a hulk pic i got the idea of doing she hulk also just for fun.
in the comics they never really gave her big muscles the way hulk had. it seemed like all they did was color her green and give her super strength. sooooooo....i decided to give her the big muscles that she deserved...but keeping in mind not to over do it and preserve her femininity...njoi!!11one

one of my fav anime movies is akira. Katsuhiro Otomo did a wonder full job creating this story and involving so many different themes and elements. along with a great story the artwork was topnotch for its time which is why it's still a hit with so many people even though it was released back in 1988..when one is asked about great Japaneses anime, akira is always in the top 5.

..so awhile back me and a few other artist got together and decided to draw our favorite scene from the movie... i choose the part when tetsuo was at his awakening point and he was unleashing his rage on a few poor unfortunate souls....
oldie but goodie...next ones gonna be a new pic....peace!!

sooooo i don't normally draw half naked women with big breasts.....not that i have anything against half nekid women wit big breasts, it's just to easy to do.......but when it comes to vampirella i can make an exception
the comic was very popular back in the day, im not sure if it was because of her big breasts, the story, or the art...i've never read the book so i have no idea...

spider man 3 killed at the box office...i think it was 150 mill or sumthing..but who cares, just the fact that they threw venom in it this time was awesome...i haven't seen it yet but venom is one of my fav marvel villains so i had to draw a pic of him....
most folks draw venom the monster and never draw his human side, so me being the kinda person to do something different from everyone else i decided to blend the monster and the human element together...I'll post the pencils later but for now here's the colors, with a little textures thrown in...lately I've been enjoying playing with textures....3/\/j0y!!!1one

I'm a "Major" ghost in the shell fan...the animated series, movie, and everything related..
got hooked back in the day when i used to watch DBZ, ninja scroll, fist of the north star, akira, and all of those other anime/manga classics...Masamune Shirow's character development and ability to weave many themes, philosophys, emotions, and sub plots into one story eventually connecting them together at the end is amazing...if you haven't checked it out yet do so when ya get a hot minute....
ok...enuff of that...for the pic i stepped out of my comfort zone and added a few textures to make it look nifty...a few of my fav grunge brushes and there ya go...enjoy!!!1

good ole E Honda....probably one of the most underrated character in the original SF series...
i think he got less respect than dhalsim cause of how slow he was and his lack of adequate reach for an offensive attack...ahhh the good old days...i remember them like it was yesterday... secluded in the local arcade during summer break....the constant echo's of shoryuken and hadoken.. i used to drop a quarter in the machine and slay countless opponents with guile and ken eventually becoming so bored with winning that i'd just walk away from the controller....^_^ i did this sketch a while back, it's an oldie but goodie so i decided to post it...next one should be new art....peace!!!1

ok...so in order for my plans for galactic conquest and world domination to succeed im finding out that i got to be a jack of all trades.....pencils, inks, colors, sequentials , etc.....back in the day all you needed was to drop some mad pencils and maybe ink it pretty well and the world was yours....well...not anymore...
